How did two California natives from San Diego and the San Fernando Valley end up in Bondurant, Wyoming? Simply, a love of the mountains.
Dave arrived in the Jackson Hole area in 1998 after spending time in Arizona and Hawaii. He acquired a degree in anthropology from North Arizona University and worked in the Forest Service and as a Department of Defense Firefighter before attending the Scottsdale Culinary Institute and launching his career in the culinary arts.
Dave's experience include Madison in Scottsdale, AZ; Wilderness Trail Ranch, CM Ranch, Los Cabolaros, Cavalo Creek Grill, Teton Mountain Lodge and Teton Pines. He then began serving as a personal chef and launched Solace Cabin Catering.
Dave and Miss met at the CM Ranch in Dubois where Miss was wrangling and was a dog musher. Miss received her degree in K-8 education from the University of Tennessee and taught English for 25 years before making a career change and moving to the mountains of Wyoming.
Married in 2002, Dave and Miss purchased property in Bondurant and began building their home and expanding their catering business in the Jackson Hole area. In 2014 they took on their next adventure, renovating and reopening the Branding Iron restaurant in Bondurant, a long-time area favorite establishment that had been shuttered. They opened their doors on April 30th and look forward to providing the Bondurant community, area residents and traveling guests with high-quality, western cooking with a flair.
